Blue Room 2 is for our Pre-School children aged approximately 36-48 months.
We have a large variety of equipment and activities, this includes but is not limited to construction toys, a musical instrument centre and an extensive range of messy play/creative materials.
The aim in Blue Room 2 is to develop positive values, independence and self-confidence in all of our Pre-School Rooms we believe children should be encouraged to develop at their own pace and therefore provide many opportunities for them to discover, question, experience, explore, experiment and imagine.
We have different areas including language and literacy, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy, science and nature, a book corner and a circle time space.
Children enjoy listening to and using spoken and written language and readily turn it to their play and learning, they can use language to imagine and re-create roles and experiences. The children start to form good relationships with adults and peers, work as part of a group, taking turns, sharing fairly and they begin to develop respect for their own cultures and beliefs and those of other people. The children find out about their environment, identifying features in the place they live and the natural world.
Activities are planned and evaluated for both Pre-School Rooms: children are regularly observed so their next stage of development can be planned for and encouraged. Children are helped to take more responsibility for their actions and their daily routines ready to prepare them for the wider world of school.
