Ellen Markham - Nursery Nurse and SENCO

NVQ Level 3

Hi I'm Ellen Markham, I have worked at Stepping Stones Day Nursery since April 2008, I am the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) at Stepping Stones and I also work within all of the playrooms to support and help the development of the children and staff.

I currently hold a Cache Certificate level 2 and a NVQ level 3 qualifications.

I have worked with young children since 2002 when I worked as supply in a primary school helping children with special educational needs, after that I ran my own play scheme at a local leisure centre during school holidays working with children aged 4 to 12 years, I then went on to work in a private day nursery working with ages 2 to 3 years.

Through my time working with young children I have gained additional qualifications such as First aid, Child protection, Health and Safety and Key skills, I have also attended training courses to widen my knowledge and I am willing to continue attending courses to keep me updated and to bring new ideas into the nursery.

In November 2012 I gave birth to a beautiful son Cobi Quinn who is utterly amazing and a fantastic addition to my lovely family. I love spending time with Cobi to share all of his newly learned skills and help him develop in all areas of learning. Becoming a Mummy has been fun and enjoyable especially as Cobi has such a lively personality and knows how to keep his Mummy on her toes! My return to work has helped me learn and share new skills between work and home.

In my spare time I like to see my family and friends. I also enjoy shopping, reading and going on holidays.
